You want shotgun?

My eternal thanks go to Wouter (from the Netherlands), who just helped me to figure out how to cut and paste my text documents into my blog. Now I can keep a personal journal offline and then paste it all online afterwards. FANTASTIC!!!

Today we went to the Butterfly Pavillion. Get this. I had a tarantula walk on my hand! I never thought I’d see the day when I’d allow this to happen. Wouter jumped right in. Kevin (from Colorado, my other roommate) and I had more reservations, however Kevin was able to convince me to give it a try on the terms that he would do the same.

I don’t think I’ve ever sat so still in my life. What an unexpected sensation! The tarantula, Rosie, walked so softly and gracefully onto my hand. She felt like 8 cotton swabs tapping on my hand. Harmless, right? Who knew?

Funny interactions for the day:

  • Kevin and me explaining the term “shotgun” to Wouter in terms of taking the passenger side seat of a car. Yes, sports fans, it was me who asked Wooter whether he’d like “shotty” to the grocery store.
  • Wooter and me trying to discern the differences between the letters “C” and “Z”, eventually creating air letters for clarification.
