August 27th, 2006: Free day

  • Edge church: Sad to say, it’s been a while since I last went to church. I’m still looking for that perfect fit. Granted, I haven’t been looking that hard. Life has a funny way of putting things in the way. I really should put more of a priority on rebuilding my spiritual life. Anyways, if I could go to a church, it would be very much like the Edge where Jane attends. I believe it’s non-denominational, but it reminds me much of the Cavalry Church that I attended back in Florida. People greeted Yamil and me with smiles and coffee. They played contemporary Christian music in the background and they had their own band. The sermon was analytical and made applicable to current day. There were a few things I questioned in the minister’s presentation, but I felt that that was okay because I had the feeling that I could question him on those things without some form of retribution. Unfortunately, we really didn’t have time for questioning. I had laundry to do before leaving for the show.
  • Sign up to stay in Europe: So I took the plunge. I signed the paperwork stating that I will not be flying directly back to the U.S. after the tour. If I’m going to take risks like this, now is the time to do it while I’m still young (and already in Europe). Of course, this is completely freaking me out. I have a place to stay in Rome for a couple days…after that, who knows!?
  • Show at Open Door: Another great show! I think I’m starting to finally feel comfortable with the pieces. I hope that’s a good thing.
