October 26th, 2006: Very full (and sore) personal day in Tokyo with Yasuyo

  • Shinjuku: To the top of the Government tower. 43rd floor in 43 seconds.
  • Akihabara: The Electric Town. If you ever want electronics, this is the place to come. It’s mile upon mile of new and old technology for dirt cheap. Darn being a good boy with a budget and a luggage weight limit.
  • Odaiba: THIS is how I envisioned Japan. I know my words have been few over the past few months, but honestly, the pictures will say more than I could (incl. mini Statue of Liberty, Tokyo Tower, the Rainbow Bridge, and the biggest Ferris Wheel in the world (in 1999).
  • Favorite quote of the week came from my host mom today. When discussing my return trip from Odaiba she stated, “Please be sure to come home alone” I could only imagine what her prior experiences with hosting had been. I later learned that she was trying say that she could not come to get me, so she needed me to come home on my own. As you can imagine, there were many laughs when we cleared that conversation up.
  • Party at Kento’s
