October 9th & 10th

October 9^th, 2006:

• Travel to Uda, Japan with Kristina Tomin from Romania: Look out Mass., this girl loves Boston!
• Oh, the 'surreality' of busting out karaoke "Like a Virgin", in a bus, driving through the hills of Japan
  
• Japanese Holiday visiting Temples (where were we again, guys?)
• Meet Chihiro Touge, my host sister

October 10^th, 2006:

• Environment presentation, “Whose line is it anyway” style (Many thanks to camp Art Works. I knew those improve games would come in handy)
• Home Team Olympics
• Dinner and pictures with the Touge family:
• I test some Japanese and Chihiro’s sister attempts some English. If only I knew more words. My host grandmother tells me that I have a great Japanese accent!
• Reminiscing about Goonies (Chihiro’s favorite movie from her childhood), Top Gun (a favorite of Mr. Touge), and Footloose.
• I’ve shared these pictures with nearly every host family. Somehow today, in a foreign country, with a family with only one English speaking member, it meant the world to me when I heard, “Thank you for sharing your photos. We feel much closer to you now”.
